Profile Videos Books

Major Devender Pal Singh is a proud veteran of the Kargil war who survived a near death experience to become an amputee marathon runner. He became the first Indian to run a half marathon with a racing blade – a feat that has earned him the title of ‘India’s blade runner’. He has successfully completed 14 half marathons and he runs a trust called the “The Challenging Ones” – a group of fellow amputees who participate in sporting events. TCO is proud of its community of 800 challengers from all over India, who are determined to challenge the conventional and overcome personal obstacles through the medium of sport. Major Singh aspires to shift society’s perceptions of those that are differently abled through the experiences of triumph and accomplishment, that he and his challengers manifest everyday. A triple Limca record holder, he has been honoured by the Canadian Government, and is a recipient of the REX Karamveer Global fellowship (2014-15).

His inspirational keynote includes lessons on living life to the fullest, and re-defining what we perceive as disability.
